01 / YOUR FOUNDATION
Set up right. Move forward with confidence.
Most beginners stall at setup. We walk through every step with you, in the order the government expects—so you can focus on what comes next.
01
Set up your business
No business yet? We start here.
Choose your structure (LLC, corporation, sole proprietor)
Register with your state and get your EIN from the IRS
Open a business bank account for government payments
Pick the NAICS codes that match what you sell
02
Register on SAM.govMost important
Without it, you can't bid on any federal contract
SAM.gov is the government's official vendor registration. Every federal buyer checks it, and you must be registered to bid and get paid. We help you complete it correctly the first time.
Login.gov account and Unique Entity ID (UEI)
Entity validation and your CAGE code
Banking and payment (EFT) setup
Small business size status for your NAICS codes
03
Complete your Reps & Certs
Representations & Certifications in SAM.gov
Your Reps & Certs are the official statements you make to the government about your business. Contracting officers rely on them for every award, and a wrong answer can cost you a contract or put you out of compliance. We go through them with you, question by question.
Business size and socioeconomic status (women-owned, veteran-owned, HUBZone, and more)
Ownership, control, and affiliate information
Compliance statements such as tax, labor, debarment, and telecom requirements
Keeping them accurate when your business changes, and at every annual renewal
04
Get certified as a small business
Through the SBA and your state
Certifications open the door to contracts set aside for small businesses. We help you find the ones you qualify for and prepare your applications.
SBA certifications: 8(a), Women-Owned (WOSB/EDWOSB), HUBZone, and Veteran-Owned (VetCert)
State certifications: in Maryland, the Small Business Reserve (SBR) and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) programs; other states have their own
05
Set up on DIBBS
Defense Logistics Agency bid board
DIBBS is where the Defense Logistics Agency posts thousands of supply requests. We help you register with your CAGE code, search solicitations by product, and submit quotes.
06
Set up on Unison Marketplace
Federal reverse auctions
Agencies use Unison Marketplace to buy products and services through reverse auctions. We help you register, set up your profile, and learn how bidding rounds work.
07
Set up on eMMA
Maryland state and local contracts
eMaryland Marketplace Advantage is Maryland's procurement portal for state agencies, counties, and cities. We help you register, set your commodity codes, and turn on bid alerts.

04 / IS THIS YOUR NEXT STEP?
For the ones ready to keep going.
You attended the 5-Day GovCon Challenge and want to keep going
You have a business, or you're ready to start one and want it set up correctly
You want to bid on federal, defense, and Maryland contracts
You work a 9–5 and need a clear system you can follow on the side
You want a coach and accountability, not just more videos
A LITTLE MORE CLARITY
Your questions, answered.
I don't have a business yet. Can I join?
Yes. We start with your business setup: entity, EIN, bank account, and NAICS codes. Then we move into your registrations.
Why is SAM.gov first?
You can't bid on any federal contract without an active SAM.gov registration. It's also where your UEI, CAGE code, and small business status live, and other platforms like DIBBS depend on it.
Which small business certifications can I get?
It depends on who owns and runs your business and where it's located. We help you see which SBA certifications (8(a), WOSB/EDWOSB, HUBZone, VetCert) and state certifications you qualify for, then prepare your applications.
Do I need DIBBS, Unison, and eMMA too?
We help you choose based on what you sell and where. SAM.gov comes first for everyone. Then DIBBS for defense supplies, Unison Marketplace for reverse auctions, and eMMA for Maryland state and local work.
What if my SAM.gov approval takes a while?
That's normal. You keep working on research, pricing, and proposals while you wait, so you're ready to bid as soon as you're active.
Is this only for challenge attendees?
Yes. This offer is reserved for people who joined the 5-Day GovCon Challenge.
